Join the Chicago Park District in the Ford Calumet Environmental Center for this FREE program where you’ll have the opportunity to interact and meet some incredible animals! This experience will bring animals native to Illinois’ marshes, forests and grasslands close to you! Get the chance to watch feeding demonstrations of toads and salamanders, hold and touch snakes, and take a picture with a turtle! This educational program will educate you on the life history of these animals and how they use their special adaptations to survive their environments.
No registration required and open to people of all ages!
Únase al Distrito de Parques de Chicago en el Ford Calumet Environmental Center para este evento GRATUITO en el que tendrá la oportunidad de interactuar y conocer a algunos animales increíbles. Esta experiencia le acercará a los animales nativos de los pantanos, bosques y praderas de Illinois. Tendrás la oportunidad de ver demostraciones de alimentación de sapos y salamandras, de sostener y tocar serpientes y de fotografiarte con una tortuga. Este programa educativo le enseñará la historia de la vida de estos animales y cómo utilizan sus adaptaciones especiales para sobrevivir en su entorno. Además de aprender sobre los animales, tanto los niños como los adultos podrán aprender a interactuar y ayudar a proteger a estos animales en la naturaleza.
No es necesario inscribirse y está abierto a personas de todas las edades.
Join the Chicago Park District and its partners for a series of facilitated Community Climbing events. Ages 8 and up. These climbs are FREE and includes equipment (harness, helmet, climbing shoes) and the use of the climbing systems. Registration is required. Walk-ups are welcome but climbing opportunities are limited to availability.
Climbers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian*

Join the Chicago Park District for this FREEPump Track Mini Clinic designed for riders who are interested in improving their skills and techniques on the pump track. Course will include basic instruction and drills through select sections of the asphalt track and end with an active feedback session with instructors. Registration required.
Interested riders should possess basic bike handling skills and be comfortable riding on various types of terrain. Instructors will conduct a pre-ride assessment prior to starting the clinic. Instructors reserve the right to turn away any participants to ensure the safety of all riders.
Participants should bring their own pump track appropriate bike, BMX or Dirt Jump style. A limited number of BMX bikes will be available, if needed.
Helmets are required by all mini-clinic participants.
This clinic is limited to 10 Participants.
Ages 14 and up, riders under the age 18 must have parent/guardian present through out the duration of the program.

Course will include basic instruction and drills through select sections of the single track trail and end with an active feedback session from instructors. Registration required.
